Kitsuna dies at the end by ~Randuil:iconRanduil:

Kitsuna dies at the end

Her eyes widened in awe at the…creature, curled up in a quivering ball of fur upon the blue sheets of the hospital bed, in the bleak white room. She pressed up against the glass, shock showing clearly on her face as she fiddled with her glasses, taking them off and cleaning them before replacing them upon her nose, in the vain hope that the creature would disappear.

Somebody tugged at the brown hem of her jacket; she turned around to face the man and realized he was speaking to her. Forcing herself to calm down, the woman glanced at the mans white laboratory coat and deduced that he must be a scientist, or worse.

“I’m sorry…err…” She glanced at the authorization badge upon the mans white coat.

“Professor Wasabi.” The man offered her an excited smile, yet she realized his eyes were not on her, but on the poor creature upon the bed. He held a PDA in his hands, and was frantically scribbling with the computerized pen, taking notes of some sort.

Finally, her shock overcome, she glanced around the room as the man once more began to talk.

“You see, its humanoid, and we believe it to be sentient also. It bears a resemblance to the foxes of this planet, and is clearly female. What an exciting evolutionary trait! I cannot wait to get a look at its genetic structure, I wonder, is it similar to our own? This is the discovery of the century madam, be glad that you are involved, I wouldn’t be surprised if-

Her gaze began to wander. She saw several more men in white lab coats, and several in long white coats with red crosses on, that could only be doctors or medics of some sort. At the back, scowling, was a fairly old a chubby man, wearing a tight fitting military green uniform that showed several medals of Honor and badges. Glinting in the light a flash of silver caught her eye and her gaze lowered to the holstered firearm that was at his side, some sort of pistol. Her eyes scanned the name tag below the mass of colored ribbons.

“General Cress...” Muttering quietly to herself, the woman observed the remaining people in the room. One of the men in white medical garbs was watching the creature silently, frowning and then turning to discuss something with his comrades. They laughed and the man cursed, heading towards the general.

“General Cress! I must protest the treatment of my patient!” The doctor stomped his foot for emphasis. His identification was hidden from her gaze as the woman watched the two begin an argument.

“Doctor Kyle, there is really nothing that-

The woman tuned out once more, glancing back at the bleak white walls of the containment room that the creature was in. The fox-woman, for she could think of no other name to call it, was curled up in a ball and appeared to be crying. The young journalist wondered just how she had got into this, remembering the call she had been given from one of her contacts, Doctor Kyle.

Kyle had wanted media protection on some ‘big discovery’ of his. He had contacted several animal rights activists, and environmental protestors, as well as her. Since they had been friends in high-school, Kyle and herself had stayed in touch over the years, often doing stories on things that Kyle would find in his research and exploration.

She remembered the day clearly. A phone message, labeled urgent. He had already paid for her tickets and she found herself on a plane to a large city in a far away state. He met her at the airport, and then they had been intercepted suddenly by black land rovers, bundled inside and driven away. The government, FBI or something had taken an interest into Kyle’s findings. This was apparently a big one.

On route to this facility, he had told her how on a recent search through the mountains he had found several odd plants that seemed to contain medicinal properties. These plants were grown in what looked almost like a garden, and upon closer investigation Kyle had found the fox-woman beset by a wild bear. He fought the creature desperately trying not to hurt it with his taser, and yet with his own life in danger he had to rely on the well-known method of deterring any male, and then he shoved the electric end into the bear’s crotch.

One lowered bear population later; Kyle had saved the fox-creature. She was badly injured, and so he had taken her home under the cover of darkness to his private practition and It was there that he had tended to the poor creature, and there apparently, that the government had found out.

A sudden slamming sound brought her back to the present rather quickly. The woman glances around and saw that the general had pushed the doctor back, and he had fallen into a table.

Both men looked very, very angry.

The Generals eyes lit up with fear and anger, violence and destruction reflected in his eyes as the Doctor stood back up, his eyes passionately turning onto the fox-woman contained within the white room.

Kyle’s hand extended to the holster of his taser gun, as the general reached for his firearm. The woman felt uneasy and then noticed the silence. Everyone had quietly left the room the moment the fight had begun, leaving only herself, the doctor, and the general inside.

As both men reached for their weapons, time seemed to slow down for the woman, her thoughts turned to her husband, Kanibal, and oddly enough, did she leave the gas cooker on before she left for this trip ?
